Shri Vidyapoorna Theertha

Sri Vidyapoorna Theertha is the thirty-third saint in the lineage of gurus following Sri Janardhana Theertha in the guru parampare of Krishnapura mutt.

He received his Ashrama from Sri Sudheendra Theertha of Puttige mutt and served as the head of the Peeta for an extensive period of 55 years.

Sri Vidyapoorna Theertha is the grandson of the Poorvashrama brother of Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha.

After his birth, Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha, anticipating him as his successor, used to send tirtha for the child daily.

When Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha passed away without appointing a successor, Sri Sudheendra Theertha granted sanyasa to Sri Vidyapoorna Theertha as per his guru's wish.

He received his initial education under Kunjitaya Venkataramanacharya and later under Sri Sudheendra Theertha of Puttige mutt.

Sri Vidyapoorna Theertha taught Sudha and other works to many students by providing them with food and clothes.

He undertook the Krishna paryaya three times during which he constructed the Suryashale, Chandrashale, Simhasana, and an outside gopura.

Additionally, he offered a golden pallakki to Udupi Krishna and renovated Padigaru mutt, Danda Theertha mutt, and Bailupejawara mutt.

Sri Vidyapoorna Theertha passed away at the age of 62 in the afternoon at 1 pm on the day corresponding to Phalguna Bahula Padya after giving dana to Brahmins.
