Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha is the twenty-sixth saint in the lineage of gurus following Sri Janardhana Theertha in the guru parampare of Krishnapura mutt.
He received his Ashrama from Sri Vidyadhiraja Theertha and served as the head of the Peeta for an impressive duration of 61 years.
During his childhood, Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha engaged in special Seva (service) to Vadirajaru in Sode, through which he acquired mantra siddhi (mastery of mantras) and Shapanugraha Shakti (the power to bless and curse).
Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha received honors from many kings due to his spiritual prowess.
He regularly conducted paata pravachana (scriptural discourse) in Udupi.
On his way to Bailupejawara mutt, Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha discovered an idol of Seeta Lakshmana Rama buried in the mud portion of a lake belonging to a Jain woman.
Purchasing the land, he installed the idol and established a mutt, which is now known as Krishnapura mutt, located approximately 3 kilometers east of Suratkal.
Additionally, a Mukhyaprana idol was found near this place, and Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha received it in a dream from the same Jain woman who owned the land.
She handed over the Mukhyaprana idol along with funds for daily naivedya (offerings).
Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha installed the Mukhyaprana idol in the mutt.
Upon passing on the leadership to Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha, Sri Vidyamurthy Theertha entered Vrindavana at Bailupejawara.
