His Holiness Sri Sri Sujayeendra Teertha Swamiji (1963-1986) was always known to foster knowledge and knowledge seekers. He was fond of Vedic Literature and always encouraged his younger son, Pandita Kesari and Mahamopadyaya Vidwan Raja S. Giri Acharya to learn the Shastras & to gain Vedic Wisdom. As indicated by his learned guru and father, Vidwan. Sri Raja S. GiriAcharya grew up to be a scholar of repute. In course of time, by the grace of Guru Sri Raghavendra, Raja S. GiriAcharya’s Wife Smt. Manjula Bai, gave birth to a son, Sri Raja S. Pavamanachar.
Sri Raja S. Pavamanacharya was born on Sri Virodhi Nama Samvatsara – Utharayana – Vasanta Rutu – Chaitra Masa – Krishna Paksha Chaturdasi i.e. 9th of April, 1971 at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, as was his upbringing, Vidwan Raja S. GiriAcharya and his wife Smt Manjulabai, brought up Sri Raja S. Pavamanacharya to respect Vedic knowledge and instilled a great sense of respect and interest in the shastras and Vedas. They guided him to upkeep Vedic tradition and study Sanskrit and Vedas as his pathway.
Noticing the keenness and grasping power of the young child, H H Sri Sujayeendra Teertha taught Sri Raja Pavamacharya, stotras and Kavyas. Learning Kannada, Telugu, Sanskrit and English during 12 years of Vedic education at Mantralaya’s Sri Gurusarvabhouma Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Sri Raja S. Pavamanacharya learnt Dvaita Vedanta from his father Vidwan Raja S. Giri Acharya and Nyayashastra from renowned scholar Vidwan Goda Subrahmanya Shastri. He also completed Mimamsa Shastra education from Vidwan Sri Bala Subrahmanya Shastri and Vidwan Sri Peri Surya NarayanaShastri taught him Vyakarana Shastra.
Thus growing up under the tutelage of his Poorvashrama grandfather and Poorvashrama father, Sri Raja S. Pavamanacharya grew accustomed to the traditions and the mutt and also familiarised himself with Mantralayam and its surroundings. He was immensely interested in and whole-heartedly tool part in, all activities and functions of the mutt from a very young age.
At the appropriate time, Vidwan Raja S. GiriAcharya and Smt Manjulabai, got Sri Raja S. Pavamanacharya married to Kumari Viraja, daughter of Vidwan I.G. Sreenivachar and Smt Tarabai, descendants of Sri Vyasatatvagna (I.G.Achar), from venisomapura. Sri Raja S. Pavamanacharya has four children – 3 daughters and a son – Chi. Aparna, Chi. Abhijna, Chi. Anagha and Chi. Aprameya.
Being research oriented, Sri Raja S. Pavamacharya regularly participated in Srimat Sameera Samaya Vardhini a scholarly retreat organised by SRS Mutt. He gained a lot of knowledge from the scholarly debates he had with his father Vidwan Raja S. GiriAcharya. He started collecting a lot of books. He was the backbone of VYASA-DASA SAHITYA SAMANVAYA PEETHA and assisted his father in setting it up. It has a repository of over 40,000 books. He kept himself busy in collecting, researching & printing rare Dvaita philosophy books. He thus continued his service to Goddess Saraswati. His multilingualism skills- Sanskrit, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Tulu..Etc has earned him a lot of friends and respect in society.
