Shri Sridhara Tirtharu was the first monk in Shri Kundapura Vyasaraja Mata after the division of Vyasaraja Mata. The division happened when his teacher, Shri Rama Tirtharu, was in charge. Rama Tirtharu wanted to appoint a leader for the disciples of Vyasaraja Mata in the Karavali region. So, he chose Sridhara Tirtharu and sent him there. Sridhara Tirtharu lived in Hale Sode and managed the Lakshminarayana temple built in Hulekal by Shri Vyasaraja and passed away there.
Even today, the temple stands with the main shrine of Shri Lakshminivasa Tirtharu of Kundapura Vyasaraja Mata and the memorial shrine of Shri Vyasaraja, besides the Lakshminarayana idol consecrated by Shri Vyasaraja. There's also a Ganesha above the main entrance of the temple. Shri Vyasaraja used to feed this Ganesha himself. People believe that any prayers made to this Ganesha are always answered.
