Previous (Shri Aparajita Teertharu) | Next (Shri Rajarajeshwara Teertharu)
The fifth seer in this lineage is Shri Vidyamurti Teertha. He was profoundly erudite akin to his name. Known as an excellent scholar, he defeated opponents making wrong arguments in debates and emerged victorious several times. Shri Vidyamurti Teertha is a contemporary of another great luminary Shri Teekakritpaada who was the writer of Shrimanyayasudha. Observing their disposition, it is quite possible that he and Shri Teekakritpaada have together engaged in propounding the philosophy. Having remained on the peeta for 11 years, during Pallava samvatara, vaishakha shuddha ashtami, he attained the feet of the Lord at Malakheda.
