Sri Lakshmiramana Theertha is the twenty-third saint in the lineage of Shiroor Mutt following Sri Vamana Theertha. He received his Ashrama initiation from Sri Lakshmidhara Theertha and served as the pontiff for an impressive duration of 46 years.
Renowned for his debating skills and scholarly prowess, Sri Lakshmiramana Theertha was also deeply devoted to Krishna worship. Legend has it that during his infancy, he fearlessly played with a cobra that had sneaked into his cradle, a remarkable incident witnessed by many.
As a highly revered Swamiji, Sri Lakshmiramana Theertha secured the villages of Shiroor, Santyaaru, and Shivapura in the Udupi District, granted by Mudradi Anantayya, the Dewan of Nagara at that time. He constructed a mantapa for their mutt in Udupi, which now houses the silver chariot of Krishna. Subsequently, he established the renowned Sri Shiroor Moola Mutt at Shiroor.
Upon passing on the leadership of the Peeta to Sri Lakshmimanohara Theertha, Sri Lakshmiramana Theertha is believed to have entered Vrindavana at Udupi, marking the culmination of his earthly journey.
