Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha holds the esteemed position as the sixth saint in the guru parampare lineage of the Pejawar Mutt, succeeding Sri Adhokshaja Theertha.
He received his Ashrama from Sri Mahendra Theertha and served as the leader of the Peeta for an impressive 29 years.
Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha was renowned for his profound devotion to Srihari and authored the renowned commentary "Padaratnavali" on the Bhagavatha, in alignment with the philosophy of Acharya Madhwa.
He embarked on complete pilgrimage tours of India twice and is believed to have written commentaries on the Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya (MBTN) and the Yamakabharata.
Additionally, Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha composed the Sanskrit Stotra "Dasavatara Harigatha."
Notably, he engaged in a debate with the pontiff of the Bhattacharya Sampradaya in Chittapura, emerged victorious, and later accepted the defeated pontiff as his disciple, establishing the Chittapura Mutt.
Various works praising Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha include "Durgashtaka" by Sri Viswendra Theertha, a Stotra by Sri Sripadaraja found in the mutt library, and "Vijayadhwajashtaka" by Sri Viswapati Theertha. Respect for him is also evident in works by Bidarahalli Srinivasachar, Yadupatyachar, and Sri Satyadharma Theertha.
He held a prominent position in the Madhwa parampare and passed away near Kanva Tirtha on the 12th day of Vaishakha Shudha.
Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha's commentary on the Bhagavatha is widely utilized for Bhagavatha studies.
