Shri 1008 Shri Kavindra Teertha was ordained in to the seat of Shri Uttaradi Matha by his Predecessor Shri Vidyadhiraja Teertha.
Shri Kavindra Teertha happens to be brother of Shri Rajendra Teertha in his poorvashrama(before being initiated to sainthood). Shri Kavindra Teertha had been formally crowned as "Vedanta Samrat" by his Guru in the traditional way. The entire samsthana and all the properties of Shri Matha were publicly handed over to Shri Kavindra Teertha in a grand ceremony. There is a mention of this and of the original lineage of the Shri Madhwacharya (The propounder of Dwaita/Tatvavada) which is Shri Uttaradi Matha in the book "The History of Indian Philosophy" written by Prof. Dasgupta, a great scholar of Indian thought. Shri Kavindra Teertha thus continued in the unbroken line.
Shri Kavindra Teertha ruled the pontificate and handed over the same to Shri Vageesha Teertha.
"Vadaratnavali" is a profound work of Shri Kavindra Teertha which was composed even before he was initiated to sainthood, then he was known by the name Vishnudasacharya.
