Madhva Siddhānta criticism on Cāruvāka, the Materialists
In this Part-22: Criticism of Cāruvāka (Atheists cum Materialists) continued; Cāruvāka don't believe in karma phala and rebirth - in which case diversity in this world can't be explained.
If there is nothing beyond body and the mere combination of insentient elements of nature can bring in consciousness, then there is nothing which stops presence of this combination even in dead bodies, then why no consciousness seen in a dead body?
Examples like the combination of beetle leaves, areca nuts and edible lime brings a different red colour, hence similarly combination of insentient elements can bring in consciousness is not fitting because in the example case presented by Cāruvāka, every raw material (beetle leaves, nuts & lime) have got a property/attribute which is colour and hence combination results in a different colour, however in the elements of nature, none of those has got consciousness in itself; If 100 visually challenged people gather together they can't get sight, similarly mere combination of insentient cannot produce consciousness;
Rebirth can be inferred because knowledge about milk consumption, survival instincts etc are seen even in newborn without teaching, based on past life experiences; Past life is also scientifically reported in this world;
If Cāruvāka idealogy don't believe even in Dharma-adharma, then it will result only in mutual crimes in the society and is useless. It can't be called a Śāstra or philosophy or religion and is to be discarded as defeated.
