After Sri Sri Vidyashreesha Teerta Swamiji ascended the Sri Vyasarajara Peetah , there has been lot of activities initiated to renovate the depleted structure of the Matha branches across . After successful completion of Chennai & Srimushnam in Tamilnadu, which were inevitable a similar structure, Kumbakonam project is being undertaken . Three Mahayathigalu such as Sri Jagannatha Yathigalu , Sri Vidyanatha Teertaru & Sri Vidyapathi Teertaru moola Vrindavana are present in the Big street , Kumbakonam.
The total dimension of the Matha campus was more than 15000 sq ft & the now remaining is only close to 6000 sq ft which is going in for a reconstruction. The building which is close to 200 years old, in a highly depleted condition needs immediate reconstruction . Further delay in construction will result in safety issues besides more leverage to encroachers who have now reached a compromise agreement, hence immediate structural change is paramountly important & inevitable to restore & save our Madhva Matha property.
